Kypriaki Greek Restaurant (North Vancouver)
I had a date nite with my hubby at Kypriaki over the weekend. My hair stylist recommended this place.
We started with some Greek red wine (which was yummy – complemented all the dishes – kind of on the sour side) and saganaki (sheep milk cheese fried in an iron skillet) which came out piping hot. You’ll definitely catch the attention of diners when it’s delivered sizzling to your table. It was yummy to dip the pita in the olive oil. Despite my low carb diet, I always cheat a bit with a bite of bread when eating out. Saganaki cheese had lots of lemon flavor.
I ordered roasted lamb, which was $17.5 . I asked them NO to roasted potato and rice and the server was taken aback but brought me extra Greek salad (which was too much).
The lamb was delicious, and the portion was huge! The lamb was a bit on the warm side, I like it piping hot so that’s the only negative thing I have to say. The Tzatziki sauce was creamy and complimented the lamb very well. Made with greek yogurt which is thick and creamy, it’s lower on the carb count compared to other yogurts.
My husband ordered halibut, and I had a bite. I must say my lamb was better 🙂 , and my hubby agreed.
This restaurant has a nice Mom & Pop feeling, with a nice greek décor, and good service. They even lit candle lights which was perfect for our date nite! I always like those little touches in a restaurant. They are very flexible with substitutions so low carb friendly too.
