Thursday was awesome, I got two treats!
For lunch, I went to my favourite Milestones restaurant with my coworker.
I ordered the
and my coworker ordered Milestone’s classic
Milestone’s Chicken Portabello Mushroom. I used to order her dish all the time – with garlic mash & garlic caesar salad…and I always finished it! No wonder i became diabetic.
My Mediterranean Chicken would’ve came with chick peas so I asked them without it, to make it low carb. This chicken was super yummy too, slightly melted goat cheese is sandwiched between 2 chicken breast. Very tasty and low carb. I wish I had red wine too – but no liquid lunch since it’s during working hours 😉
For dinner I had a very special treat. My boyfriend, so grateful of the duck dinner last night, said he will cook me dinner. So I got him wine & beer & his favourite blueberry tart from Terra Breads on the way home from work. My boyfriend doesn’t cook often but when he does, his dishes are so yummy! He cooked me
roasted pork. He was worried what not to put in the dish to keep it low carb, but he succeeded by marinating the pork with horseradish mustard. It was super super tender with lots of flavour. For the salad, we had arugula & marinated tofu. Very tasty and went well together with our red wine.
For dessert, I had a
tiny tiny slice of the blueberry tart from Terra Bread that I bought for my bf. It was a super flaky pie crust and so tasty! I wish I had the whole slice, but I always tell people – “It’s not that bad to just have a bite of a dessert – you get the best taste and you don’t get the sick feeling you get after eating a rich yummy dessert!”
Did you notice my hand in the above picture is a bit orange? I didn’t notice it until my coworker pointed out….(it was much more orange too) but it was because the free “hand cream” I’ve been using, that was attached to a wine bottle, wasn’t a hand cream – it was a self tanning lotion lol! Until I figured it out I was so worried that my liver was failing from complication of diabetes…here’s the picture of the culprit!
